JETCAM to demonstrate new cutting CADCAM features at MACH 2006
New features include common line cutting and heat avoidance for cutting thicker material
JETCAM will be demonstrating the latest version of its Expert CADCAM software for punching, profiling and routing technologies at MACH 2006. It is being held at the NEC in Birmingham, UK on 15th to 19th May. The latest version has seen further significant advances in nesting efficiency and ease of use.
JETCAM has invested heavily in the development of its automation, performance and assistance features and algorithms, and will be demonstrating several new and enhanced capabilities, including:
Rectangular high-performance nesting (HP-RAN). Available free to existing JETCAM users under maintenance with rectangular nesting, provides even more efficient rectangular nesting capabilities. This time-based algorithm continually tries different nest pattern over a user-specified period of time
New advanced common line cutting features. This reduces machine cycle time and material use.
Heat avoidance ensures that the optimum cutting path is achieved while avoiding previous cut areas until they have had sufficient time to cool.
Free-form high performance nesting (FFHPN), yielding significant material savings. Many customers have experienced 10-15% nest efficiency improvement using its time-based algorithm.
Remote Control Processing (RCP). This allows external programs to completely automate the programming and NC code generation process for complete hands-off operation. This is ideally suited to companies wanting to link CADCAM and nesting to MRP.
Enhanced help and tutorial system with training videos. These are available free to all customers.
Commented Martin Bailey, Group Marketing Manager; “Automation and the areas that customers will save will form the basis of our presentations at MACH this year. The market requires manufacturers to squeeze every last drop of efficiency out of operators, machine and material. By reducing the programmer’s workload, improving machine runtimes and increasing the nest efficiency we can demonstrate a clear return on investment to our customers. One customer that purchased FFHPN saw that it paid for itself in just over a month. They also dramatically reducing machining time through a software update supplied under their maintenance contract. At the show we will demonstrate complete end-to-end automation, with NC programs being automatically generated using JETCAM’s RCP module linked to an external MRP system.”
