Kapa was formed in 1994 to offer job shop services both
to the local Czech as well as pan-european market. As
a new company it had no software to program its first
Trumpf machine and so it was decided to investigate
available options. The management was also aware of
the fact that they would need to purchase another machine
in the future, but did not know what brand the machine
would be. Therefore any CAD/CAM system purchased had
to be capable of programming any brand of machine. Further
investigation also showed that many CAD/CAM packages
were either not available in Czech, or that they were
poorly translated. After thorough market research, they
chose JETCAM, supplied by Protech
SpT s.r.o.
